Thanks giving weekend here in Canada allowed time for a walk in the park and the opportunity to capture the beginnings of a glorious season. When we hear the call of the Canadian geese overhead we know that it’s either spring or fall. In either case it is beautiful.

Was at my brother in-law’s wedding and wanted to capture the bouquet toss in action. This shot requires some pre planning on my part so the first thing to do is ask the wedding coordinator to instruct the brinde to do a fake toss before she actually throws the bouquet. If you miss the toss […]

Here are a few of my experiments for posing wedding rings. I will typically use a large aperture (small number) as it will blur the background and draw the viewer’s eyes to the rings. I also try to capture a feeling with the rings by adding the newlyweds. They are not the main subject of these shots […]
What a beautiful day at the Cobourg beach, weather was perfect the beach was not too crowded. Spent the day walking the beach and Cobourg Marina taking photos. All in all this was one of the best days of the summer (so far). Sat on the pier to watch the sail boats drift by, nice quite moment spent there with my dad.
Caught this moment as the bridal party was lining up to enter the reception hall. I am not sure who was more excited about the wedding the flower girl or the bride. 🙂
At a recent wedding the guests were given a small card where they wrote wishes, blessings, and advice for the newlyweds. At various times during the meal one or more cards were taken from the box and read aloud. I loved this as it made the reception feel more intimate.
A sunset tends to make me stop and reflect on the day, a good time for soulful meditation. This image captures that feeling for me.
I nice moment captured at the end of a wonderful day.
For this shot I used a tripod, dragged the shutter and no flash since I wanted only use the fire light. I did have to wait for everyone to get quiet and not move too much. I did need to take several shots before I got this one.
Was at the beach laying down when I saw this bicycle leaning against the tree. This got me thinking about my bike when I was younger and how summers seemed so glorious. For me my summer evolved around my bike, my bike gave me freedom, I could ride to see my friends hang out then we would all ride together. We would ride to go swimming, to the park to play, to friends houses, we would even ride them on trails. It was truly a wonderful time.
The other interesting thing about this photo is that I had completely changed my perspective, which produced an interesting result.
Sorry about the delay in post however live is making me very busy and so I may not be posting as often but I will continue to post.
