Patience for the Mirrored Lake

Mirror Lake

Mirror Lake

Recently I have found that I like to wake up early, before the world has come to life. Some days I am rewarded with images such as this.

When I arrived at the cottage I looked at the lake though how nice it would be to capture the lake when it is still. Every morning I woke up hoping to see this site and on the 3rd morning I was able to capture this image. It speaks to me about patience.

“Patience is power.
Patience is not an absence of action;
rather it is “timing”
it waits on the right time to act,
for the right principles
and in the right way.”

Fall a Glorious Season

Fall A Glorious Season – Canadian Geese

Thanks giving weekend here in Canada allowed time for a walk in the park and the opportunity to capture the beginnings of a glorious season. When we hear the call of the Canadian geese overhead we know that it’s either spring or fall. In either case it is beautiful.

Reflections at Sunset

A sunset tends to make me stop and reflect on the day, a good time for soulful meditation. This image captures that feeling for me.

I nice moment captured at the end of a wonderful day.

For this shot I used a tripod, dragged the shutter and no flash since I wanted only use the fire light. I did have to wait for everyone to get quiet and not move too much. I did need to take several shots before I got this one.

Summer Ride

Summer Ride

Summer Ride

Was at the beach laying down when I saw this bicycle leaning against the tree. This got me thinking about my bike when I was younger and how summers seemed so glorious. For me my summer evolved around my bike, my bike gave me freedom, I could ride to see my friends hang out then we would all ride together. We would ride to go swimming, to the park to play, to friends houses, we would even ride them on trails. It was truly a wonderful time.

The other interesting thing about this photo is that I had completely changed my perspective, which produced an interesting result.

Sorry about the delay in post however live is making me very busy and so I may not be posting as often but I will continue to post.

Cheers,
LP

I took this photo on Mount-Royal in Montreal. These raccoons were so accustom to people that they would take food right out of your hand. They look cute an cuddly however they are animals and you should always be cautious around wild life.

Niagara Falls Buffalo

From the Canadian side we have a clear view of Niagara Falls Buffalo. I really enjoy going to the falls, on my next trip out there I would like to go later in the day. So I would be able to catch the falls at night. When the lights hit the falls at night they become magnificent.

I read recently that on June 15, 2012 Nik Wallenda will walk across Niagara Falls. You can follow his training at http://www.niagarafallstourism.com/eyeon/nik-wallenda/
